Rick is a senior partner at White Coad LLP.  He was born and raised in Oxford County, obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and his law degree from the University of Western Ontario.

Rick has served on the board of directors of numerous local organizations and has been elected and served terms on Woodstock City Council and Oxford County Council.

Gordon M. Klein

Gordon grew up on a farm in Southern Saskatchewan. He attended the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Western Ontario before he obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of Western Ontario in 2005.

Having articled with White Coad LLP before being called to the Bar in July 2006, after his call, Gordon joined the firm as an associate, practicing in various areas of law, in particular, matters relating to agriculture.

Gordon plays hockey as well as golf.  Gord lives in Woodstock with his wife, Dana and their children..

Brad J. Hause

Brad is a partner with White Coad LLP, having practiced with the firm since his call to the bar in 1995. Brad obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the University of Waterloo and his law degree from the University of Western Ontario. While Brad’s primary focus is on teaming up with clients to tackle their business law matters, he also provides knowledgeable assistance on residential and commercial real estate matters and guidance to executors in the administration of estates.

Brad has served on the boards of a number of charitable and non-profit organizations over the years and can occasionally be found risking his own personal safety playing recreational hockey and hacking up the local golf courses.

Ryan Verhoog

Ryan Verhoog

B.A., J.D.

Born and raised in Perth County, Ryan was called to the Ontario Bar in 2013 and joined White Coad LLP as an associate shortly after. His practice is focused on real estate, business transactions, estate planning, and in particular, serving his agriculture clients.

Ryan is a graduate of University of Western Ontario where he earned his Juris Doctor degree. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Oxford County Law Association.

Ryan resides in the City of Stratford with his wife Tamara. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf at Craigowan Golf and Country Club.

Russell Mitchell

Russell grew up on a small farm in Zorra Township before earning an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Ottawa and a Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2015 and began practicing in St. Marys before joining White Coad LLP as an associate in January 2019. Russell currently volunteers on the board of directors for the Perth Community Futures Development Corporation.

In his spare time, Russell can often be found running in St. Marys, where he currently resides. He is also a mediocre curler and a long-suffering Toronto sports fan.

Adel Fortin

Adel was born and raised in Oxford County.  She attended McMaster University where she obtained a Honours Bachelor of Arts.  After working in the tech industry for several years, she decided to return to school and obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.  Adel was called to the bar in New York state before she was called to the Ontario bar.
 
Prior to joining White Coad, Adel had the opportunity to practice in a boutique business law firm and most recently as corporate inhouse counsel for an agriculturally based company.  Adel advises her clients in matters of business law, real estate, and estate planning.
 
Although Adel has lived for short periods in other countries and another province, Woodstock has always been her home base.  In addition to traveling, golfing, and biking with her husband, Mike, and son, Sébastien, Adel loves spending time watching her son play hockey and baseball.
Payden Shrubb

Payden Shrubb

Payden grew up on an apple farm in Norfolk County. She obtained a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo, and a Masters of Forest Conservation from the University of Toronto, before working in the eco-tourism industry for 9 years.

Payden returned to school in 2018 and obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Western Ontario. She articled with White Coad LLP before being called to the bar in March of 2022 and has returned to the firm as an associate.

Payden lives in Norfolk County with her husband, Adam and their three dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, trail running and rock climbing.

Jessica Chyc

Jessica was raised just outside of Dorchester, Ontario. She obtained her B.A.(Hons) at the University of Guelph, and subsequently obtained her law degree from Western University. Jessica was called to the Ontario Bar in 2020. After her call to the Bar, Jessica practiced family law at a large regional law firm in Southwestern Ontario. Jessica became certified in Collaborative Family Law in 2022.

 

Jessica joined White Coad LLP in 2023, and her practice is focused on collaborative family law, wills, and real estate. Jessica’s approach is founded on communication and trust; she seeks to empower her clients to make informed decisions and achieve resolution in an expedient and cost-effective manner through alternative dispute resolution methods.

 

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys playing soccer and spending time with her family, friends and her dogs: Ares and Athena.
